Name chanting - a method to be close to God
Name chanting or Naam Jap is a form of prayer, a way to remember the one we love and respect - God. Name chanting has been prescribed by the saint all over the world as a way to be near to God and to get his blessings. This can be done in many ways;
1. Speaking out the name of the Lord (God)very loudly.
2. Speaking out the name of the Lord (God) in a way that only the speaker can hear.
3. Speaking out the name of the Lord (God) in one's mind and not uttering it out.
Counting of repeatition of name while chanting can be done through:
1. Rosery
2. On fingers
The benefits of name chanting are many:
1. Bhakti
2. Mukti
3. Shakti
4. Gyan
5. Freedom from ailments
6. Closeness to God
